I spend so much time on Twitter that I think I have invented a new addiction – “I am Arthur Crandon, and I am a Twittaholic.”
I would like your help to start an organization to assist those likewise afflicted. I am going to call it Twitters Anonymous Tactile Support. The first meeting of the TWATS will be held at my place next Tuesday night. There will be a swear box for anyone who says ‘hashtag.’
The super power soc.net. is even as we speak working on ways to trap us into spending more time with them. They now have a service to let you find music you like – and then to tweet the song (they are in cahoots with iTunes, Spotify and Rdio). It is called the App#music
You can find music from artists that you like - then hear a 30 second excerpt of songs. There are of course links to go and buy the music – so twitter will get its pound of flesh.
"American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest tweeted about it last week, so it must be true.
“The music app is strikingly more visually appealing than the regular Twitter app. Squares of photos of artists fill the screen and bounce around in response to swipes. The app also starts a turntable spinning with a little picture of album cover art when playing a song.” How quaint!
Anyone interested in joining or helping me cope with my affliction can email me on Twatsunited@nevertweet.org
All these attempts to keep us glued to the blue birdie MUST be resisted. We need to organise and fight it! I must go and Tweet about it no... Oh Shi...!
Ok. On to other matters. I am pleased to unveil the cover for my relaunched book - due out around mid - June. I am so pleased with Jane Dixon-Smiths work. Comments please - let me know what you think of it.
I will keep you updated with the progress of my relaunch each week - there will be offers, give-aways, bribes, threats and extortion. Book marketing is a serious business these days.
Here are the usual furries. My girlfriend is happy because we are going to get a real one soon. Bye for now, Arthur.
Meet the author
Arthur Crandon is a lawyer, the boring office kind, not the exciting (and much better paid) courtroom type. He worked as a solicitor for a while before embarking on an interesting life overseas. He has spent most of his time in recent years in South East Asia, more recently in Hong Kong. Before that, Arthur lived and worked in the Philippine Islands.
He loves to fish, and play the piano – but spends most of his time writing, eating, drinking and sleeping
– usually, but not always, in that order.
His first book, Deadly Election, draws on his strange imagination and his
experiences, together with those of others, in a land that, beneath a veneer of civilisation, operates like the Wild West and is very
dangerous to innocent and gullible foreigners.
