This is my last post before Christmas. 2012 has seen me gradually turning from a lawyer into a writer – a bit like a caterpillar and a butterfly I suppose...... Speaking of butterflies, we went to the Botanical Gardens in Hong Kong last weekend (My girlfriend met up with some friends there and they became a mass of giggles and dancing – I made myself scarce!),
I came across a large exhibition room there and they had on display some Atlas moths - the biggest moth in the world. It is very beautiful and is native to this part of the world – I had the pleasure of seeing them live in the forests of the Philippines a few years ago. It was a good reminder to me to value the inspiring and wondrous things around us that are FREE and DO NOT NEED BATTERIES. It really is a beautiful world, if you look at it from the right angle.
I am really excited to do my re-write of ‘Deadly Election’ over the festive season (how sad is that!) – but I must get it out of the way and get on with my new book which I hope to inflict on the unsuspecting book world around June. It is currently called ‘the 90%’ and I have no intention of explaining why right now – I will start to tell you about it after Christmas (Please sign up for the blog – over there on the right, that’s it) as I would not want you to miss the exciting news. By then it will have another title – girlfriend doesn’t like it, so it has no chance.
I have enjoyed writing and learning about writing this year. but I have a lot more to learn. If you are a writer I hope 2013 is good to you. There are so many changes, I sometimes feel like a dinosaur left behind after the ice age (alright, shut up, I KNOW dinosaurs were not around until after the ice age – just a metaphor), I hope I can keep up and get ahead of the game. If you are a reader you are a REALLY nice person, and of course, a very GENEROUS person, and the sort of person who appreciates a REALLY GOOD READ!!! – here is the link to my book – amzn.to/T0Hthk
Happy Christmas everybody...........
Meet the author
Arthur Crandon is a lawyer, the boring office kind, not the exciting (and much better paid) courtroom type. He worked as a solicitor for a while before embarking on an interesting life overseas. He has spent most of his time in recent years in South East Asia, more recently in Hong Kong. Before that, Arthur lived and worked in the Philippine Islands.
He loves to fish, and play the piano – but spends most of his time writing, eating, drinking and sleeping
– usually, but not always, in that order.
His first book, Deadly Election, draws on his strange imagination and his
experiences, together with those of others, in a land that, beneath a veneer of civilisation, operates like the Wild West and is very
dangerous to innocent and gullible foreigners.
